Looking Towards Home from Below the Garden

Best on black. We had a local youth prison group come and cut some of our brush and when Pearl and I were walking where they had cut, I realized that the snag might be a great foreground object for a Milky Way shot. I went out when it was dark to shoot the composition I had imagined and discovered the quarter moon was shining directly on our house so it shows up too. It is so hard to believe I live in such a gorgeous spot.
Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs and for taking my bridge and stars shot to the TT this week. I was so happy to see it there.
Beautiful purple starry night sky...no light pollution at all!

Congratulations on the TT - so very well deserved. And this is a fabulous hot - it is so nice that it gives us an idea of the area around your home - the humming birds and deer and bears now all make a lot of sense. A beautiful spot to live. :)

Awesome capture. Did you do some light painting on the tree and the house, as they really seem to shine in the dark. Just curious.

You are lucky to live in a spot where you can still see the Milky Way. We mostly see the moon and sometimes a planet or two and part of the Big Dipper. Love the color.
