While the hummers are still here, I want to photograph them at all their "feeding stations". If you look carefully, you will see this hummer has a deformity. She has a third foot up higher on her body. It doesn't seem to be causing her any problems thankfully.
Thanks for all your kind words re my concern re being in the Subaru Repair shop yesterday. I wore all the appropriate gear, they had good circulation, everyone was wearing masks, and I use sanitizing wipes to clean all the surfaces inside my car that they might have touched. And my car seems to be performing fine at last. Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
@fbailey thanks. I suspect I won’t because I’m having trouble with keeping up with myself and were I to win, I’d be in charge of next challenge and I don’t feel I could do it justice
Fabulous image! I seem to remember we may have seen an image of one of these with an extra foot last year. Do you think this could be the same bird back again? :)
@robz interesting question. I’ll have to check how long they live...but I don’t think so. I think this is one of this year’s babies now adolescent. Maybe child of last year’s. Though now I think of it, we had an Anna’s over winter here several years who had a little tumor like thing on her neck so I guess this could be the same one as last year
Glad your trip was safe.
