This was really far away and severely cropped but kingfisher shots are on my bucket list. The ones we have here are so easily spooked that I've never gotten close enough for a good shot. I was tickled when I got this to my computer to realize he has a tiny fish in his beak.

Oh wow - they do seem to like the tops of sticks - that's where I found my first and only. Their color and shape is so distinctive that you can spot them at a distance thank goodness. Nice going!
