Stellar Jay

I think they look like such bullies and they do chase the other birds off the feeders. Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Handsome guy though

With the weather change, I think I am feeding them more than the other birds that I want. Our outdoor cat isn't helping either.

Wow -- that is an incredible closeup! And you've captured personality as well.

Our Blue Jays are so mean. They dive bomb anything that gets in their way snd they are so loud. This is a wonderful capture.

Is this a female? I saw one bury a peanut in our front yard. Is that kinda normal?

@joysabin I actually don’t know how to differentiate the sexes. Yes the nut burying is pretty normal

I used to think of Jays as bullies, as well. Until I saw this photo. But this is such a powerful portrait of the Jay seemingly caught in an introspective moment that I know longer think of them as bullies. Who ever heard of such a thing as an introspective bully? Now, I must alter my thinking to consider that all Jays might just be misunderstood. Many thanks for sharing this game changing, life altering photo with us.

Yes! They are bullies. Red winged black birds are worse, the ones up here attack people.
