Black and White Spring Forest

Experimenting again with B and W. I haven't quite figured out when it works. I like this better when it's enlarged. What do you think?

It's a jungle out there! Looks like a place you just want to stay out of. That said, I think the photo has done it's job. Well done image and the b&w strengthens the point.

Looks like dense brush there... and in b & w, it looked a bit like snow at first glance! Has a nice textural feel!

I like this in BW, it "softens" what would be stark greens. I, too, struggle with black and white! Nice job!

I think it needs a little more contrast. It's a pretty grey image at the moment.

I agree with @webfoot. b&w usually works best (at least for me) when there's a lot of contrast. I did a b&w challenge last July - an entire month of b&w pics in my extras album. It taught me a lot.

Mmm! I do think more contrast would help, but I wonder if it's the right subject for B&W. For me B&W works best with clearly defined lines.
