I am hoping someone...Vee perhaps...can tell me what kind of hummer is is. I figure it's a boy since he is so bright, but the red head as well as chin isn't our usual hummingbird. He's been at our place a couple of days but disappears if I go outside with my camera so I figured I would follow Cheryl's example and shoot through the window.

Cute one! It's a male Anna's Hummingbird. I find that if I stand near one of their feeding flowers/bushes, they will sit on a branch nearby to keep an eye on me.
