Kingfisher

Taken on my recent monthly bird count on Waite Ranch. I love these little birds and find them really hard to catch since they move so fast and sure won't let me get close. This isn't terrific focus since it was taken too far away for my 300 mm lens and cropped, but I like it anyway.

We have these on Beaver Island, but I've never seen one still enough to tell what it looks like (outside of bird book pictures!). Wonderful capture with the light really helping me see all its details.

Really nice kingfisher shot - love those ruffled feathers and your do.

They are very different to our Aussie Kingfishers. He is lovely with his ruffled plumage, I bet a big shake and he would be pristine again. Lovely capture :)

he looks similar to the ones here and you are so right. They are some fast birds.
