how do you get close enough to do this type of macro without making them fly away? I tried to do my first bee macro the other day and wound up running away as fast as I could because poking the lens near the bee seriously pissed it off. Needless to say, I will never try to photograph something with a stinger again.
@jsw0109 Lol - I can just picture you running away from the bee! Patience my dear - that's is how I get so close. I stalk them and sit and wait. I find getting the shot a challenge :) Bees are tricky - you just get to know which ones are agressive and which ones aren't....don't give up!! :)
@jillmstruss I should have known better than to try to shoot the one I found... it definitely had a case of ADHD and was on crack. I wasn't sure how long/far it would chase me, so I just kept running til I was a good distance from the garden
