A Half Kopek for Your Thoughts

11 / 365
Some trinkets from my time in Mother Russia. The small coin there is a half-kopek. One two-hundredth of a ruble. Who could imagine such a thing now?

The book is the History of the Russian Navy. Copper-bound, and heavy as a brick. I will treasure this keepsake for the rest of my days.

This is beautiful. :) It has such an historical feel about it.

Wow...very interesting, and copper-bound...that is too cool. I really like this shot because it keeps my attention.

@bekki1123 Cheers Bekki! Back when I shot film I worked almost entirely with b&w, and I miss it! I decided it would be a good idea to go with that as a general theme for my 365 (with the odd exception, of course). :)

This wee collection looks a bit like our collection of global momentos- not exactly the usual souvenirs but thats what makes them special...a personal connection to where you've been. Thanks for your comments :)
