I feel bad for adding a filler two days in a row. My newborn wasn't behaving today so that shoot will be tomorrow or Monday now. Then I have a senior formal (graduation ball) Tuesday and Wednesday, and, well, it just gets busier after that. So I'm taking today off - not picking up my camera at all. I hope you don't mind.
Anyway, this is my lovely assistant who usually carries my gear, hands me lenses, holds reflectors and scrims, moves people around for me, keeps track of stuff I drop in public places, and generally just keeps me able to work on location shoots.
This particular day it was raining really heavily and I called her up and asked if she'd like to be my subject for a change. In the rain. She kindly put on a cocktail dress and promptly got drenched. This particular shot was taken when the rain slowed to a slight drizzle for about five minutes, before pelting us again. Some of the other shots from this shoot were taken when it was raining so hard it was difficult just to have our eyes open. Good times.
slacker..... just kidding! your portraits are stunning, jinx, and inspirational. maybe this weekend i'll have time to do more than photograph crap i have laying around the house!
I'm not sure if it just so happens that everyone you know / photograph has amazing eyes or if it's the camera. Either way, this is beautiful! You really do take amazing portraits :D
I agree with everyone you have a way with eyes! Of course we don't mind if you take a day off 365 should be fun we don't want you stressing out to post a shot! Relax and have a great weekend, we will be here when you return! :D))
@jinximages oh and also, read heaps of stuff about editing from the link etc ... it seems like i've been doing things the manual "hard" way using PSP, because thats all i've ever known lol, and there's a stack of "cheat" ways in PS that are much easier/faster etc .... so they're gonna be my next purchase i think :)) mind you, i think i do pretty well in PSP, i literally do it all manually lmao
@taidster It is a really good thing that you know how to do it manually, trust me! That knowledge means you'll make far less mistakes when doing things using the quicker methods. You'll be very happy with your PS purchase, I'm certain. :)
