Bike Sunday

217 / 365
Because it's Sunday. And a bike. And I don't have to think too hard about what to photograph.

Not much of a ride today. Too sore from yesterday's ride. Easy spin around town, and coffee with a friend. Working towards 600km/week...

Oh I remember 600k weeks... good times... good times.

ok question ... do you have an action for the blotchy style vignetting thing you've got going on here, or have you done it manually ?? and have i already asked this before, sudden feeling of dejavu now, lol

@taidster Still do it I reckon! Haha! Yeah, I only did about 50 today - big slacker, I know. Didn't even do the hill - just a beach and coffee run.

In regards to the vignette, though I have added a vignette (in Lightroom), there are also two vignettes out of the three textures I used. It is extra-blotchy because of the (actual) background, but the two textures containing vignettes were both very uneven too.

@kjarn A few of my friends do 1000-1200km every week. So, I reckon I must be the sane one. ;)

@bobfoto You know, you could always start doing that again. :D

*slacker*

but the blotchy looks awesome :) but sound complicated hehe

@taidster Nah, nah - just have to pick the right textures for it. I have been using mostly ones from Jessica Drossin, and they rock.

Nice seat, helps with keeping the ride less stressful!

Seat? I thought it was a shoe! Oh well, what do I know about "those kinds of bikes." Ask me about golf clubs and I'm full of answers. Great shot and love the processing.

600 a week? OMG.. Now I could understand if the bike had a va va vroom engine in it :) Insane in my books, but so much respect :) Great shot btw

Nice shot the only thing i put that kind of distance on in a week is a spoon and nobody wants to see a pic of that

Thanks everyone!

@httpgeffed Best seat I've ever owned! Makes those 4-hour-plus rides much more bearable. :)

@mamabec Haha! It is a weird-looking seat, I'll give it that. ;)

@jinximages - surely no one does 1200k a week up here? You would die from boredom of the same rides... and that's 170km perday, well over 5hours a session. When I rode 26,000k in a calendar year (500perweek) I was riding with an Australian cyclist who has won Paris Roubaix no least and he said he only rides 40,000k a year in training. He didn't include races... your friends should be signing up with Green Edge!

@bobfoto How did I miss your comment?! Yeah - it wouldn't be a permanent schedule (in regards to the 1000-1200km/week). I definitely misled with my wording on that - I meant it as an "at the moment" comment. Typically, the guys who do that, do it for about 4 weeks at the start of the season, then drop down to a more usual 400-600km/week after that. More typical though is 600-800km/week as a base km build-up, followed by the "standard" 400-600 after. My riding buddy did a thousand a couple of weeks ago - it put her in a hole, but as she recovers her speed her endurance will have improved greatly. She should do well at the TT this Sunday at Pallarenda. Me? I've been hitting no more than about 550km/week, but anything over 400km and I feel pretty good.

@jinximages - That sounds fair. Back in SA, around the Tour Down Under week and in that stage of summer, I would often do a few 1,000km weeks. But eh, I punched out around 300kms on my MTB last week, and I am happy with that.

@bobfoto Good stuff! 300km on a MTB is a fair effort! I still reckon you should get out the roadie and come do bunch rides from Juliette's on Tue/Thu mornings. ;)

@jinximages - need to get a new frame. Went into the new bike store the other day and got some prices.... one day.
