Steampunk

I am uncertain when this donkey engine was used on Vancouver Island. The steam donkey engines were being replaced by internal combustion engines in the mid to late 1800s, but in isolated areas wood waste was more easily obtained to burn than gasoline.

A donkey engine is used to skid fallen logs out of the woods to a location where they can be loaded to take to a sawmill.
Great find and capture
