I had an idea for the week's theme, but seriously doubted my abilities to make the idea into a decent photo. Well, rigged up my gear (which is not much) and shot an 8G memory card full. This is one of the best shots, in my opinion and I decided this will be my first ever try at a theme. What do you think? Flow?
@psychographer Thanks! I was a bit worried if the whole idea would be flattened by the greys, but I'm happy to hear that you like my choice of tones. :)
@janmaki Thank you, I appreciate that a lot, coming from you. This idea came from a sturdy background of almost 18 year of dancing, sometimes also with a veil.
@janmaki Oooh, you set me a challenge... I'll keep it in mind and try it at some point - I'm going to need more room than what I have at home for something like that. But you'll see one yet, I promise. ;) (I'm not too sure about selfies in general, yet. But as I've understood it, you had the same in the beginning of your project and not so much anymore...)
@joa you really should do selfies, I'm sure it's the fastest way to learn about light and shadows, composition, processing ... because it's you and you put that extra effort in pictures of yourself :) At least that's what happened to me... you don't have to post them, but do them ! Selfies can also be quite therapeutic :-P I hated selfies, but learned to like them and I'm glad I forced myself to do them.
@janmaki I suppose selfies are a bit out of my comfort zone - it's the usual complaint about not being "photogenic" or whatever. But ok, I'll take your word for it, because you've obviously become a master at selfies, judging by what I've seen. I'll give selfies a go. Soon-ish. :D
@joa there are two levels to selfies, the first level is to just take that damn picture and the second one is to actually portray some real emotion or feeling in the selfies. I still feel uncomfortable with that, it's much easier for me to just goof around in the pictures. So, playing a role in a selfie might help you to get started :) But, take your time...not trying to talk you into doing them or anything.... ;)
@janmaki Yeah, clearly not. :D I've posted a few elsewhere (mainly in my FB albums and for the Photo a Day -challenges I'm doing with my iPhone), but I'm rarely happy with them. I suppose now would be as good a time as ever to try to learn how to like selfies.
Haha, just thought of something, though. I can't anonymously stalk you around town anymore, if I post selfies! :D I know what you look like, but you wouldn't recognise me. Yet. :P
@dlarocque Thank you very much! I think I'm definitely going to give themes a try in the future as well (I already did, with the lowkey, but it wasn't as good / original as this perhaps is), because this Top5 has given me a bit of self-confidence. I can do this. :D

I love this shot, so awesome to see a newbie in the finals, this is a fantastic idea well executed, I voted for you not only for the fantastic photo and idea but also for the determination as i can imagine how hard this must have been to get the perfect shot! now i have clicked thru to your photo and read you filled an 8G card you certainly deserve that vote :) well done :)
@emjay8 Thank you so very much for your vote! I did luck out with the picture, as nearly half of the 8G's of pics (I'm shooting in RAW, so that's technically not that many frames, not like 700 or anything...) were shots of empty background! :D
