@farrah Thank you so much! I thought the (over-the-top) b&w worked nicely, bringing the much needed brightness to the shot. It was soooo grey coming out of the camera. ;) @wadazomo We're not even subzero (Celsius) at the moment, having some sort of a warm spell. I don't mind freezing temperatures and proper winter, but this is rather depressing in January...
@wadazomo Hahaha, I know! But oh well, I suppose I can't really even wish for that before March. My ideal winter here in SW Finland would be: permanent snow cover in mid-December. Stays nice and beautiful till the end of February. Sun comes out, takes away the winter and we have a lovely, bubbly March, followed by warm April. (Never going to happen, but a girl can dream, right?)
I used to live in Utah, lots of mountains and the snow was beautiful. I live in Ohio and it is flat and gray all Winter. Look forward to seeing more of your Finland countryside throughout this winter.
@kwind Oh my. Thank you so much for the kind words and the fav. :) I may have to consider perhaps making this a centerpiece photo above my sofa. There's a whole lot of empty wall space and it's just waiting for a large canvas or three. :D
@losthorizon Thank you for the follow and comment. :) The shot was originally a bit wider, you know, but I do think this crop works better, gives the composition a more balanced feel. :)
@vposey Aww, I appreciate it so much. Glad I could give you a reason for a fav. :) @aprilmilani Thank you, April. I quite like the edit myself, for once I got exactly the result I had in my mind with it! @ziona Thank you for your comment, Ziona. I'm glad you like the shot. :)
@yellowdog Thank you, Kelly! And I'm glad to have you around for company, welcome to my project. :) @jantan Thanks, Jan, I appreciate it. :) @nita I'm so happy to hear that, thank you! :) @blestmom4 I'm so delighted about the response to this shot, makes me very happy to hear you like it too! :) @espyetta Sounds like I've got to check your tree photos as well! ;) @grizzlysghost Aaron, thank you so much! Coming from you, aww shucks, I keep trying to remind myself NOT to think "I'm not worthy..." :D @tbats22 Thank you so much. I'm so happy for your fav, too.
In fact, I'm really quite delighted about all of you visiting, commenting and faving - and following! The response to this shot - I do think I haven't had anything like this happen before. :) Thank you! *happy dance*
This is one where I really stopped what I was doing and spent some time looking and studying. How odd that the trees are all in a row, evenly spaced, but different shapes. Good choice for B&W. I think the plain white sky helps emphasize the pattern and simplicity. Fav.
@boxplayer Thanks! I think who ever planted those trees really had a good eye. Or rather, was good at thinking ahead, about how the trees would look later. I thought the different shapes were interesting, too. @rvwalker Thank you very much for your comment, Ross. I appreciate it that you took the time to really look at the photo. The trees are, in fact, lining a pedestrian route through some fields (as far as I was able to tell from the roadside where I took the photo from) and if you look closely, the title should actually be Twelve. :) @egad :) Thank you so much. I really appreciate your comment and fav! :) @jsorensenart Thank you, Jake. I'm glad you like it.
@luka365 Thank you, Luka! :) @roadshow Glad to hear you like it, Gloria! :) @a1000words The weather was really odd that day, below zero C, but misty. I'm glad it got captured, the mist I mean. ;) @janim Oi sentään, kiitos. :) Ei mulla oo tämmöistä buustia ikäpäivänä ollutkaan, heh. Tammikuu taitaa auttaa aika kivasti. ;) Mut kiva, että tuli sun buusti mukaan - ne vanhat häviskin sen siliän tien kun poistit tilisi. Kommentit jäi, mutta ne harvat ja arvostetut favit hävis. Ounou. :D
@jase_h Aww, thanks! :) This is probably my most popular shot in the project so far. And I think I'll make a big canvas of it on my own wall at least! :)
