Look twice

I tend to bump into happy accidents a lot, when I'm fumbling around with my camera gear. Somehow my failures sometimes turn out looking pretty good.

As is the case with this unintentional double exposure. Turned out to be one of the best frames of the first color film I ever shot with the Yashica-A.

Fujicolor Superia X-tra 400
That's such a cool result! The trees make me think of those 'old & new' merged pictures of how places used to be.

@humphreyhippo And what's fun in this shot is the fact that I took both exposures standing in the exact same spot. In other words, this is me looking up and down the river. :)

Beyond cool, perfect double exposure. faved
May 7th, 2014
@janim Thank you oh so much for the fav! :) The sad thing is that the two separate shots I took after this, in the same spot, are crap. :D Hahah, I need to fail spectacularly more often!
May 7th, 2014
@joa the key is not to tell about the failures, and make a noise about the successes :)
May 7th, 2014
@janim There's a lesson I haven't yet learned. But now, I'm off to find some cherry blossoms. Meet me by Posankka in 30 mins? ;)
May 7th, 2014
@joa Okeydokey sounds cool ! Lähen just matkaan
May 7th, 2014

What a serendipitous balance. Neat!
May 7th, 2014
Love this! I really need to work on double exposure. And stop meeting up you two, too jealous! ;)
@janim @joa
May 7th, 2014
@louuncouth The way the two bridges meet is really quite neat. I agree. :)
@kass No need to work on it, accidents are just fine. ;) Hahah, we haven't actually met up in months before this. I'm thinking sometime in September or something, as a few meetups were rainchecked and postponed during the winter months. So no need to be jealous. Although we did have a great time just now. :)

Love this, this really works! It's got a real vintage feel to it, moving old and new!
May 7th, 2014
@cutemagic Thanks! :) I really quite like the tones of the shot myself. The setting sun gave this a nice glow.
May 7th, 2014
Eerie, like it! Love how that church looks almost like transparent!
May 7th, 2014
@susale It really is quite curious how the "transparency" of the different parts of the shot vary. Pretty cool. :D
May 7th, 2014
@joa Yes, toi tolppa tossa vasemmalla on kans niin makee, onnekas vahinko siis, lisää näitä vaan :)
May 7th, 2014
@susale Luultavasti lisää tulee kyllä, kun kuitenkin vähintään kerran filmirullassa unohdan siirtää filmiä eteenpäin kuvattuani yhden ruudun. :D Lahopäisyysefektillä kiintoisia kuvia, hih.
May 7th, 2014
@susale se on nii ihquuntunut että on ihan lahopäistyny... ;)
May 7th, 2014
