Night flower---about 14 cm across

of the Pseudobombax ellipticum, or shaving brush tree. By dawn it was already shrinking. I haven't photographed a flower at night before so didn't know what settings l should use, the camera had a night landscape mode so used that with tripod, torch and remote. The flower should be bit more pink than mauve. There's more buds coming so l will try again for better colour, have to read more about night photography... Also looks okay on black
Wow this is spectacular.. don't know this plant but can see why it is called shaving brush bush.. you did well with the settings.. did you use a tripod?.

@julzmaioro yes had a tripod, it was funny, dashed outside to get the photo then realized l didn't know what setting to use so dashed back inside to fiddle with the settings in the light inside
