Termites swarming by joannakate

Termites swarming

White ants on the move. These termites have a nest in the log and have emerged. They only emerge on overcast, showery days. They have wings, and fly away to form a new colony. They then shed their wings.
Brave of you to get that close! It happens here in August on an overcast, muggy day and the air is filled with flying ants.
