Quite a large Goanna...

came trundling past the veranda this morning. Normally, with me getting my camera and moving about they either freeze for a few seconds, then go away pretty fast. This one for some reason just flopped to the ground in front of me, posed nicely for a few shots , the slowly went off. Its a Lace Monitor

@mave hi mave... l'm more than bit behind on commenting, but these goannas can become quiet if people feed them then the goanna gets demanding and sometimes bite or scratch when they can't get what they want. With ours here we never feed them, so they are quieter but still wary of us
