Forgive me for being sentimental today. by joansmor

Forgive me for being sentimental today.

It's been on my mind all week and then I forgot this morning for a bit. It's been three years that he has been gone. Love you my sweet.
Nice photo to remember him by. What would he make of this, his photos going global? I want to say Jim, is that right?

@debbie3108 Debbie, yes, Jim. He sometimes liked his picture taken and sometimes didn't. He didn't get the internet. He was 6 days short of turning 95 when he passed. Which makes him in his 80's in this picture. But you never would have known it until the end.

I don't like having my picture taken either! Getting so close to 95, what an achievement, I have a friend of 92, George, he looks after his wife who has demintia, he is very lonely and loves to talk about the old times. I like to give him the time of day cause I think that might be me one day.

Aww, what a lovely sweet picture of you both. It looks as though you were out enjoying a horse racing event? Lovely memory captured.

@debbie3108 He actually wanted to make 94 which would have meant he lived longer than his parents. BUt when he did he had dementia and so lost awareness of it. Sometimes live plays some tricks on us.

@barbarajdonnellan It was at the State Fair in Skowhegan. We loved to go and bet on paper. Fun memories that.

@featherstone @kwind Thanks, my friends. @francoise Jim was my husband. It was a second marriage for him and my one and only. He was 32 years older than me. But he was the love of my life.
