Just drifting along.

Now this duck was down in Naples. There were lots of duck down there and the closer I got to the water the father they swam from me. Thank goodness I had my long lens.
Very nice capture with great clarity. Lovely duck.

It was an animal day...three animal pictures in a row on my home page today!

@dianen I've had that happen sometimes. Especially when there is a them or technique that everyone wants to try.

Nice and sharp given the effective focal length (450mm) - you're obviously getting the hang of that particular beast. Mine hasn't been the same since Mrs S dropped it (and two other lenses) on the tiled kitchen floor!

I really love the minimal feel of this and the contrasting patterns between the duck's feathers and the ripples in the water. fav

@vignouse Can't you send it for a check up.

I love the painterly look to the water Joan, nice capture.

Super compositition

Beautiful! The water looks lovely.
January 23rd, 2015
@joansmor Probably... it's just all the hassle of packing it up, sending it off - not to mention finding someone who's prepared to look at it!

Nice capture

Lovely detail - fav

Super photo, beautiful detail. And...actual water...that isn't frozen solid! I shot a photo of a duck that went in for a bite, head first, and flash-froze that way: head in the water, butt and tail feathers sticking up. :-(

Lovely
January 24th, 2015
@sharleen I worry about them.
January 24th, 2015
Not to worry girls the ducks don't feel the cold like we do.
January 26th, 2015
Nice capture btw.
January 26th, 2015
@janiskay But they do get frozen into the water it has happened here before.
January 27th, 2015
@joansmor I han never heard of that!
January 27th, 2015
@janiskay That is why they asked people to stop feeding them at #1 pond and people ignored them until they actually lost some because they were frozen to death.
