The Hunter and the Hunted by joansmor

The Hunter and the Hunted

Took my sister on one of my favorite photo loops. We stopped at a Townhall and were taking pictures of some flowers when I noticed this cat running with a critter in her mouth. I watched her play with it but it managed to run back across the street and into the flower garden. That is when I caught this picture. The good news is I witness no carnage and the little chippie ran for his life across the parking lot while the cat was looking in the wrong direction.
Awesome capture!!!

Oh my God, that's kind of cute - you can even see her with her tongue out, licking her lips. I am glad there were no victims though, the little squirrel (is it a squirrel?) looks really cute!

Great capture. I don't feel too bad for the chipmunk being chased though. Although they are cute and cuddly, I found out a week or so ago that they prey on small birds, baby birds and injured because I took a photo of one and saw talons sticking through its cheek. The one we have here also sits under the feeder and lures the birds by chirping like a bird. I chase it off whenever I hear it and see it. I am glad that this chipmunk got away. The cat has to find lunch elsewhere.
