This is the Portland Observatory which is not a lighthouse. Built in 1807 it was used to communicate between boats and land. They did this with telescopes and flags. I did not like the colors because of the time of day so I choose bw. So as I have said before, come to Southern Maine and I would gladly play tour guide. This structure ND at lest six lighthouses to photograph in one day. Lol
Ops almost forgot. I saw this morning that my picture "Morning at the beach " made TT and I m over the moon. Think you all.
This looks like it is built of brick! Probably red which I would have to agree about your preference for colour! And not a lighthouse - so interesting!.
