I walked at Wal-Marts then headed to the coast for a breakfast. Living Congdons I decided to head north to Kennebunk for a change. I wasn't thinking about the storm off our coast. Then I hit Mother's Beach and was amazed at the waves. At Gooch's Beach they were surfing. More surfers than I have ever seen. I took over 300 pictures and have gotten it down to 100. I didn't bring my long lens again. Gotta start bringing that one. I processed in LR, then applied two filters in Color Efex. So I think that this qualifies for the Etsooi movement. So got a twofer with a six word story. It was a mere 15F when I took this shot. It was wild. @dianen has posted some shots from the Portland area. So fantastic.
This is absolutely fabulous - talk about having a lemon and making lemonade (that is - if the little men in white coats don't come get these guys! 15 degrees - yikes!) Love the shot - you caught that wave perfectly. Fav
@thirdjoe If you look at my shot posted the next day you may get some idea. But it crisped the lines. Gave texture to the spray and made the colors more like what I saw - greyish and threatening. When I watched them it sort of took my breath away and I wanted that feeling to be carried to my viewers. I think that happened. The waves look angry. The surfer isn't taming the wave he is just trying to hang on for a good ride. I didn't have my long lens and couldn't zoom in and catch any of his expression so my picture had to make the wave dominate. I have probably said too much but that is how it felt to me after the processing.
