One thousand origami Cranes by joansmor

One thousand origami Cranes

According to Japanese tradition, anyone with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 paper cranes will be granted their most desired wish, because they have exhibited the cranes’ loyalty and recreated their beauty. Read this beautiful story http://1000cranes.com/about-us-2/the-1000-cranes-legend/ . This was part of the memorial service I attended and I thought it a fitting picture to post for Thanksgiving.
Oh, that's cool.

That story is so neat! What beautiful little paper cranes. Origami has always fascinated me - could make a few simple creatures - taught it to me kids at school.

It's a lovely story. Have you ever tried to fold a paper crane? A young Japanese friend showed me how to do it, but I found it difficult to get them right. 😀

I learned about the 1000 Cranes while my son became obsessed with Origami during his early elementary school years. He still has one of his Cranes hanging in his now pre teenager room. I enjoy the cultural story...
