Looking up

My gf and her husband told me about this. Not sure if I ever noticed before. But since I was on a rideabout yesterday afternoon I stopped in to take a shot. This is at the top of a very tall steeple on a church. So it isn't the "finger".
Good spot - maybe it isn't 'the finger' but the message it's sending is at best confused!

@vignouse I was hoping you r Mrs S would explain. So I googled and I think it is a First Presbyterian thing and not the only one. It is the finger pointing to heaven,

I guessed what it was meant to be but there's lots of room for confusion here ;-))

Intriguing! And I do like the way you have used space in this.

Definitely could be a cause for confusion from a distance.

I'll pass on a challenge I had a couple of weeks ago, having a photo with bokeh. My subject was a flower, but you could make your subject what you like and is doable for you.

What a strange sight!

Not what you would expect to see on a church steeple, even if it is pointing to heaven.

Very cool!

how intriguing!

Not what you would expect to see on a steeple :)

Well spotted and not what you would expect atop a steeple, there must be a good story behind it!!

Very unusual. I wonder what is the story behind it.

Am puzzled. At close quarters, there only seem to be 3 fingers. One is aloft, the other two are being held down by the thumb. Or am I blind as well?

@s4sayer That is all I see too, I was wondering if anyone else would notice.

Very eye catching, especially against that perfect sky

@joansmor
3 persons/fingers equals 1 God?

@s4sayer Cool interurpetation

It does make you look twice but it's definitely the pointing finger with the thumb tucked that way. So I guess if you're convinced it's the middle finger, that says something about what's on your mind!

I think the message is to look up to God. If you're going through a tough time, need an answer to something you are facing, have something to be thankful for, or want to change for the better the answer is with the Lord. So look up! Not the traditional steeple topper, but I think they did it on purpose!

Good shot!
