Crab Apple by joansmor

Crab Apple

I got a bit of color out on my ride this morning but I really wanted to show this tree super loaded with tiny crab apples. My niece and I think this is the most we have ever seen on this tree. I don't know if you could make anything with these small crab apples but the birds usually like them. You may remember this same tree covered in beautiful pink blossoms last spring. I love taking a picture of it in the spring but this year I am equally excited to take it loaded with fruit.

Wow! That looks amazing. I used to eat crab apples when I was kid...still like the sour taste of them.

I like the strong contrast with the painted background -- and what a rich group of crabapples!

Wow! This makes me want to go back to the crab apple orchard that we took photos of this spring for its beautiful blossoms. We talked to the neighbors then, and they said the apples are used for feeding to the horses in the area.
