Not the best picture I have taken of a butterfly. But I am distracted today. A colleague has tested positive for Covid and she was vaccinated. Most of us went back to wearing masks. I was supposed to get my mammogram and couldn't because I had contact with her. Getting a test tomorrow but am worried. THis seems to have become a permanent feature of our lifes.
I love this photo - looks like a painting with the beautiful water colors. Sorry to hear the bad news - my family and I are still wearing masks everywhere we go - I doubt I will ever stop. Sending positive thoughts your way for your test tomorrow
Vaccines don't stop you getting Covid but hopefully the symptoms are reduced. I suppose you still have to isolate if you test positive even though you have been vaccinated because you can still pass it on to others . Hope your test is negative.
@olivetreeann I don't know what media you watch but I have seen many news stories about the fact that the various vaccines and their rates of effectiveness. The best one is 80% effective. Maybe we have better coverage up here in Moose country. :)
@onewing That is what I have heard - my coworker has had a mild case so far which is also common for vaccinated persons. I was wearing masks in stores just not at work because everyone was vaccinated or had covid previously.
Fav. What a beautiful image! Sorry to read this but I hope everything will go well with you when you take the tests. Christine and I have never given up wearing our asks even after getting both doses of the vaccine. Our friends do the same, at least when they are with us.
This would be beautiful as a painting. Love it. Hoping your test is negative. I had to do the same thing last week. No fun. Although, in my case, I'm fairly certain my sister's MIL's test was a false positive.
I know what you are going through. I was talking to my doctor on Friday and he told me that while the new variant is more contagious that it isn't as potent as the original. He also told me that if you get COVID-19 or the vaccine unless it takes your body won't make antibodies which will make you more susceptible to getting the virus. I am going in to get tested for the antibodies to determine if I need to get the vaccine since I had COVID. He doesn't recommend getting the vaccine if you already have the antibodies.
PS I believe that is Joe - Pye rather than milkweed.
Amazing shot, by the way; I never know anymore if this is a great moment or a great composite!
