600 pages of ecstasy 🎨

This is one of my super large sketchbook or call them art journals- I have tons of them- I don’t know why that every time I go to the art supplies,I have to grab and buy one or two- it’s an addiction — it’s an obsession!
Some were already filled up, some are still half filled and the rest are just blank pages and waiting for me to scribble down something.
I do this doodles when I’m bored and when anxiety and panic comes up to me. My journal are my daily rituals- soon as I wake up in the morning, I grab a pen and start doodling- no plans in mind,I don’t think or over think- I just let my brains do all the flow..i spend seconds or most is 3 minutes per page a day.i mostly do abstract, modern…( lines, square, circles… etc)
I myself don’t understand what the drawing is all about-
—-my art(?)has no meanings, they’re totally nonsenses, rubbishy , some are whimsical, dark, edgy and even a 4 year old kid can do much better .I just do this for myself- I’m not trying to please no one or waiting for approval from a critic or an audience …my art journal gives me joy, they release my stress and I feel happy doodling, coloring, drawing, cut, paste and tearing the pages apart.
They’re my creative drugs —They're my ecstasy 😍😍😍🎨
love your creative spirit , where would we be without or inner world our creativity? I would happily buy some of the pieces you post here , if you ever decide to do so let me know...

May be therapeutic but you also enjoy it. Art is subjective and only for you. Cheers

Thank you for your explanation. My youngest daughter was diagnose with severe anxiety a few years ago and it was a tough time. Like you she is a very talented artist (she is 10) and I often think that if she did something similar to your art journals, it would help her in some way. I really need to encourage her to do more of this. I am going to show her your photo. She has lots of sketch books and art supplies too. (I am like you though and have an obsession of buying books, every time I go shopping I come home with one or two or three more)

@nicolecampbell yes encourage her- my art journal helps me a lot to cope w/ my anxiety- I feel bad for her she’s way too young to feel this way- I refuse traditional meds,I’m into alternative solutions tho’- hope she’s not taking any of these anti- anxiety drugs cus they will just harm her- here’s the link of my 365 sketches- wishing her the best and ((( hugs))) http://365project.org/tags/jdmsketchbook?page=1

I really doubt a 4 year old could do much better, you are seriously talented and I'm so glad that the work that gives us pleasure is helping you with your mental health. Thanks for the link too, great to see all your work on the same page

Art comes from the soul in my humble opinion. I feel that you are so very wise to stay connected to your creativity and let it have a voice in your daily life. May your work continue to feed you. I enjoy your combinations So very much.

Joey --- I think you are quite talented with your drawing and photography. Your sense of humor, imagination and creativeness is all in your artwork. Are you watching the short genius mini-series "Picasso" on the National Geographic channel? Picasso's life from a child to an elderly man was nothing short of a constant adventure.

i dunno... i find there's an elegantly simple sophistication in your work... possibly not every scribble... but those scribbles are practice for the more complex pieces you produce... and how wonderful that it serves as your therapy as well...
