Happy New Year (from locked down Northern Beaches)
We were allowed 5 people. Just about everyone in Sydney had to watch the fireworks on TV. I photographed the above on ABC-TV). Normally millions of people watch them from the foreshore.
Ah, lovely smiling faces! Happy new year to you and yours. My cousin lives in Kingsford, over near Coogee, so a little further south than you. I remember loving the northern beaches when I lived in the CBD in Sydney. Your title made me smile and remember happy things.
@casablanca
I lived in Clovelly for 12 years and used to go Coogee to swim and eat and drink. I should have stayed there ... away from the northern beaches. Happy New Year to You.
@johnfalconer Maybe you will again, one day? We were there with hubby's job on secondment from the UK, hence the very central location, but I loved taking the train out to different suburbs. Coogee is a lovely place to hang out. My cuz is a chef and used to cook for a restaurant there. Less touristy than the north, as I recall, though it was 25 years ago now!

Come on Lin ... it’s a fun 6. A fun 7 if you count the dog which we can’t because that puts us over the 5 maximum (5 plus the person who lives there) Covid limit. Thanks for commenting.
All within the rules Babs. Almost anyway. We were on the lounge for a second or. two for the photo. I wore my mask on the bus but took it off when I had to walk the last few kms. All in all a good time was had by all!
Beautiful collage and pictures. I like the happy faces of your family. Strange times we are living in but as long as we are healthy we can surmount them soon. I have seen a short clip of your fireworks on the local news bulletin - very outstanding.
Thanks very much Dione. Happy New Year
The state government announced earlier today that a lot of the lockin restrictions in our area in Sydney will be lifted at midnight tonight. Hurrah. I’m going to my first restaurant (outside) for a while this week.
Thanks again for your lovely comments.
