The Griswalds go opal hunting

My daughter’s family are off with 5 other families in similar vans to Lightning Ridge, a desert opal mining community about 800kms north west of Sydney. I don’t think any of them have ever been in a caravan or camper van or such like. Ever. But with 12 adults and 16 teenagers it will be fun.

Actually. I’m not going. It was my daughter etc. 9 or 10 hours in a van. No thanks. I’m happy with exploring Sydney.
