Well, this is it. The final photo. Even though I had not planned this, it seems fitting that the final shot should be a long exposure seascape, with dramatic light. Without any planning or desire, this has become my style. Its the kind of shot I like taking the most and to be honest, I think they are some of my best work.
I could not have imagined getting this far 12 months ago. There were a few stages when I found it tough and I almost gave up a few times but I'm really glad I stuck with it. To say I've learned a lot since first picking up a camera 366 days ago would be an understatement. It has led to many new opportunities for me and I'm looking forward to seeing where this crazy photographic adventure brings me next. I think that even if I wanted to stop now, I couldn't. The crazy amount of money I spent on the D800 and 24-70 lens means I'm stuck with it anyway! :-)
There are far too many people to say thanks to and I don't want to offend anyone by accidentally leaving someone out. Since I left for my 3 month work trip in September, I know my commenting has been very sporadic but I'm really glad people continued commented/faved my photos during that time. It was those comments that kept me going and I'm sure I would have stopped otherwise. Thanks to you all.
I've decided to do Year 2. I had said to myself that I could not commit the time to it but I'll find a way. 2013 could be a very interesting year I hope and to be honest I'd miss this place.
Congratulations to everyone who finishes today. It's not an easy task and you should all be very proud of what you have achieved.
Congratulations Paul on reaching 365/366. Your photography, espcially your seascapes, are really beautiful. Glad to read you'll go another round with us. Cheers and Happy New Year!
Love it!!! So glad I'll be seeing you in your year 2. Mine will be up in June - not sure what I'll do then, but in the meantime, here I am. I'm so glad you posted this...as you already know, I find your work inspirational!! Congrats to you on a wonderful first year!! Happy New Year to you & yours!
Congratulations on completing your project with a very beautiful photo, it is your signature style. I am glad you will be back for year two, I really enjoy looking at your work.
Congratulations on completing your project. You take wonderful landscape and seascapes, and this is again fantastic. Look forward to seeing Year 2. Happy New year
Paul, another stunning shot. You really did find your niche, but I also enjoyed your forays into other areas and genres. You really do have a talent and I hope it brings you the success you deserve. God bless and best wishes for 2013!
Superb again Paul and well done. Your album is so inspiring and full of my kind of shots. I'm struggling at the moment and wish I had the sea on my doorstep. Id be out every day if I did. So looking forward to your 2013 album. Oh, and has to be a fav ;-)
I love the shimmer of light on the water, Paul! A fitting image to end your year... and beautiful it is. Congratulations on a project well done! I sincerely had no doubt you would stay on! And you will enjoy the lack of pressure... vedrai! :D
Congratulations Paul, Your shots are a dream and I have enjoyed them immensely. Although I don't have the opportunity/time to be in such beautiful surroundings as often as I would like, this type of photography is also my favourite and I hope to get more chances in the future to improve my shots, even with just my basic equipment. I'm really glad you are continuing and I really look forward to seeing more stunning pics from you!
Happy New Year!
Fav!
Happy new year Paul - I look forward to what you see and take this year. Glad you've decided to stay. I believe it's the tough times, when we're all consumed with life and work etc, that 365 makes us richer - 'cause we have to dig deeper and look harder. The slumps don't last forever. :) Good luck and all the best.
Awesome shot.. and yep, they're like your signature now... I love them. I'm so glad you're sticking around! I can't remember if you have FB... but look me up!! :)
@ozziehoffy Thanks Cassandra. Yeah, still not sure how that happened and it was a bit of a surprise but I guess thats the way it goes. I think I'll approach year 2 like you, in a more relaxed way. I'll have a look for you on FB.
@mumabear Thanks Katherine. I started 12 months ago and a lot can (and has) change in 365 days if you stick with it.
