Chichester old and new by josiegilbert

Chichester old and new

I liked the juxtaposition of old and new in this shot. The spire of Chichester Cathedral is visible in the background and the foreground shows some new flats on the old Shippams Paste Factory.
great perspective, I like all the lines and geometric shapes

That's an interesting shot of Chichester ... reminds me of the times we visited over the years when my son was at Uni there ... a beautiful place :)

@alijchapman Thank you Ali. The centre of town hasn't changed much, but they've but a lot of new houses and retail units on the outskirts.

For me, another (new) view of Chichester Cathedral which I visit quite often - posted the bell tower from the top floor of the museum recently. Your career change sounds interesting and you cannot be far away from me!

@quietpurplehaze I go to Chichester quite often, as we have friends there and we like the shops. I live in East Preston, which is half way between Arundel and Worthing, so it isn't far away.

@josiegilbert

We also like Chichester and I specially like taking photos in the cathedral. We live near Winchester and Eastleigh.

lol - I have not seen this view before - even though I was responsible for gaining planning permission for the Shippams redevelopment - I was not however responsible for the design! - I really enjoy the composition in this view

What a weird coincidence that you dealt with the planning permission! I was standing on part of the old town walls when I took this photo and the new flats on the left are the rear boundary of the Shippams site.
