A great example of this 19th century ethos, the Goldstone Pumping station, located in Hove is a group of high Victorian gothic buildings built from 1866 to provide vast quantities of water for the rapidly growing towns of Hove and the fashionable seaside town of Brighton. Striking for its polychrome brickwork, decorative mouldings and gables and elaborate windows, the buildings are an important landmark in Hove although closed to the public as a museum since 2006 and for sale since 2018…..would be good to see it find its purpose once more.
