I have enjoyed reading about split toning and playing around with it in my pictures... I kind of need to find a good picture for it I think... You got a great shot and the s-t seems very subtle - I can see (maybe) a slight reddish tone on the mountain?
@kali66 Thank you so kindly for the fav. I was sitting down on the ground looking up and out of the old crater where this trail took us.
@evalieutionspics Thank you so much, the sun was on the rocks not on the crater floor which was fine but I admit to some thoughts that it wasn't going to work.
@taffy This trail takes you into an old cinder cone that has collapsed. I sat down in the dirt to take a shot, much to my husband's strange eyebrow raise but it worked.
@megpicatilly Thank you so much, the light was just hitting the rocks that surround the crater floor.
@stephanies The trail goes into Red Mountain which is an old collapsed cinder cone- the sun was shinning off the rocks so maybe that's the reddish tone. I just sat down in the dirt to take a shot while my husband just raised his eyebrows and waited.
Oh, I love that shot. I think its one of your best. Love the detail of the sunlit peak framed by the silhouetted foreground peaks or shadows. Well done.
@ceilidh Thank you so much, the crater is a most wonderful place. It is small but very tranquil.
@catsmeowb Thank you a great deal, the way that the sun was hitting the edge of the crater was just so amazing and I was very lucky.
@s4sayer Thank you ever so much, the trail into this crater is short and the inner area is just amazing. You look up to the top and feel just like an ant.
@mbrutus Thank you so very kindly. The light was just amazing while I was there. The sitting down in the dirt made the difference.
@bfairfield Thank you, the interior of the crater is small, the way that Mother Nature carved out this is just awe inspiring.
@overalvandaan Thank you so much, the bottom of the crater looses its light early in the afternoon and the shadows really become very dramatic.
@jerome Truly appreciate your kind words, thank you.
