More of a diary shot- I needed to have my sewing machine repaired recently. There is actually a store that still does this in town (Odergaards Sewing Center). That unto itself is basically a miracle. The finding of fabric that one can touch and gauge its quality these days is an enough of a challenge. Enough grousing about things. I also found out that new treadle machines are sold there. I have an antique cabinet but no machine that would fit. I must admit that going 'off grid' in sewing might be more than I would want to do, though it is a fun idea.
i have a few sewing machines of various ages that dont work! i hate to throw such marvellous things away but the guy in town that used to fix the old ones has died.

I miss not sewing, but don't do it as much as I used to. @golftragic Thank you so very much. Oh...this brings back memories! I got a sewing machine for my 10th birthday (I think). It is the only sewing machine that I have ever needed. It is a small Singer and fits in a carrying case. It looks like a toy but its the real thing! :)
@gardenfolk I understand that the older Singer machines are the ones to keep and covet. The newer ones have not kept their quality. So glad that you like this, I see many other shallow DoF's and I like the look.
