Flash of Red No 23

The sun is out and I was! Donned my layers, boots and lensbaby Sol45 to capture a rather larger icicle on the back of my house. It is about 3.5 feet long. I believe we (our little Flagstaff) made the national news, 40.5 inches of snow from this storm. I am getting into my son's 4 wheel drive later today with cameras and go explore.
Last of leading lines for Flash of Red.
It looks like a snake slithering down the tree. Nice capture.

it really looks animalistic - good luck with your adventures - 40.5" is a lot

Love that sunburst, happy exploring

Brilliant....

Phew - that is a lot of snow and such a huge icicle! How can you go out in that cold?

Great shot! Yes I saw Flagstaff in the news with all that snow and thought of you. Looking forward to more snow pictures. Stay warm and safe though.

Lovely shot. Great focus and bokeh. I heard how much snow Flagstaff had and thought of you immediately. Five years ago, I was back in Connecticut when a storm left 40 inches of snow. So I know what you must be going through.

@henrir There are several that are longer on neighbor's houses. I saw the end and it looked like a hand to me.

@shannejw Just a tad too much, in my opinion but we deal.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you, I tried to explore but most of the roads are closed where I wanted to go. Its not that I don't have things to shoot around home but wanted out.

@walrus So kind, thank you a great deal for the fav. I am loving this Sol45.

@kiwinanna With the sun coming out, it means a bit warmer, layers are the trick that works for me.

@jernst1779 Lots of Arizona got snow too, even Scottsdale which is in the Phoenix area. It was more of a novelty for them as they only got about an inch. Its fairly deep in the neighborhood but passable. Riley (my dog) had some trouble seeing over the top of the snow when we walked today.

@mbrutus Thank you a great deal, near the house didn't get the monstrous levels of snow so I could 'sneak' through and get the shot. Many of the roads where I like to go are either closed or stuffed with snow players. I will wait until Monday to really try to get out of town and get snow shots.

@fbailey Thank you so much. The lensbaby blur probably had some say in the matter.

@lsquared Thank you so kindly for the fav. There was no wind this morning and the sun was most welcome.

Great tones! Love this!

And oh my! 40 INCHES (I had thought centimeters...)
February 24th, 2019
nice capture ...

Spectacular! 40” is a lot of snow. We haven’t had any in Brittany and as we're only an hour from the coast and the Channel beyond, it's unlikely that we'll see icicles this seious/dramatic.

wow, this is long. Enjoy your explore and looking forward to seeing your photos.

Love the combination of sunburst and icicle.

Works well. Fav!

I really love your B&W's! The starburst is awesome and I like the way you composed this picture!

@domenicododaro Please forgive my delay in responding, just when I think that I have gotten some headway in commenting too. This storm was a douse y for sure but we are grateful for it. The ice is melting but we will have piles of snow for awhile.

@pdulis Thank you so much.

@s4sayer This was a bit too much for me. The university even closed for 2 days and they hardly ever do that. I love the quiet that happens when it snows. The shoveling, not so much.

@yaorenliu Very grateful, thank you. I went out today and there was more open but not all yet.

@taffy Thank you so kindly. The early morning sun was a gift after the storm and overcast skies.

@haskar Grateful for the fav, thank you.

@jenp Thank you so kindly, it was somewhat comical to see me tramping through the snow drifts trying to get a good angle and shot.
