Ajo's claim to fame

The desert town of Ajo (garlic in Spanish) is a sleepy but very relaxing place. We stayed the night after having been at the Organ Pipe Cactus Monument. I had to stop in at this coffee shop and find out more. The mural created by DaWolf Baker welcomes visitors on the north end of town. The 1972 movie has achieved cult status due to its short comings. Oh my gosh! I thought I was the only one who had ever seen that movie ( or maybe it was just something I dreamed and thought it was a movie) ...any one to whom I mentioned it had never heard of it. I never thought to get confirmation that it really did exist here, on 365. Boy, was it a bad movie...no matter how big you make them bunny rabbits just aren’t that frightening...unlike rats!
Fun mural and nice capture of it. Too bad however, if having that movie made there is poor Ajo’s greatest claim to fame.

Yikes, fabulous artwork, but rather scary stuff.

@gardencat I admit to having never seen it but had Dr. McCoy in it:):)

@golftragic It is a great mural. There are many around town but this one caught my eye.

@robz Cult movies are fun to talk about but see or sit through is a while different level.

@shannejw Thanks, some of the desert towns in this statement have a good sense of humor.

@eudora When I first saw it, I hadn't taken the time to read the finer print- I just thought about the Monty Python movie- The Holy Grail.
