The Grand Canyon Cafe is no more but, so far the new owners have left the sign. It was an institution here in Flagstaff since 1942. It closed after the owner passed and family chose to sell. The new owners have turned it into a butcher shop and sandwich shop.
I love the atmosphere you created with the exposure here. It's bittersweet when popular old places are sold, but at least the space is being kept alive with useful business. :-)
I agree with others on your choice of exposure here. Dark enough to give the feeling of an evening shot but enough light to show detail and to highlight the inside of the shop.
@gamelee Thank you very much. This is the main route through town.
@haskar Thank you a great deal. I was very glad that it was warm and no rain :):)
@trinkaholub Thank you a great deal. I need to take more night shots around town. Flagstaff can be kinda interesting.
@genealogygenie Thank you so much. The traffic on this road can be crazy at times.
@gardencat Grateful, thank you. I don't go downtown at night much but maybe I should more often.
@jernst1779 Thank you most kindly for the fav. I did enjoy a few meals at the cafe before it closed, good food.
@tstb13 Very cool. It was a fun quaint place. I believe that the new owners kept the counter which is so old fashioned now.
@fbailey Thank you, truly grateful for the fav. I had fun taking lots of shots of the traffic, not sure if many noticed me.
@eudora The city does try to make an effort to save the older, more historical things about downtown. I hope that they keep this little bit history around a long time.
Fantastic shot. That you were able to stop those cars on the other side of the road and still record the movement on this lane - and all that within the second's exposure time - - that's almost acrobatics!
