I started out tonight on a different path. I was trying to light a glass vase with two lights like a video I saw this morning on peta pixel ( https://petapixel.com/2020/01/06/capture-moody-glassware-product-photography-with-just-two-lights/ ). Okay, the vase and I weren't on the same page so to speak. I pulled out one of the lilies that have been fading since Christmas in an attempt to coax the vase into compliance. The flower had other ideas and we both went happily down a different path than the vase. I am not giving up on the lighting technique but it did lead me to this.
@mzzhope I was amazed how this worked. The blue part was a big surprise. Thank you so very kindly for the fav.
@pistache Thank you a great deal, especially for the fav. The way that this worked was amazing, the bottom portion was a piece of black plexiglass- go figure?
@francoise Most appreciative of the fav. I had forgotten to adjust the ISO from the star shots and then using two different types of lights I didn't have clue what would happen.
@gardencat The flower was old and almost dried up so, maybe that had a factor in this.
@runner365 Thank you so much, the old withering flower combined with a higher ISO and white balance set for star shots (forgot to re-set) strange things happened.
@judithtb Truly grateful for the fav, most thankful. I just play with things and sometimes I get good results and sometimes just lessons learned....

@eudora Thank you a great deal.
