Moon rises at Wukoki

Riley and I ventured to the Wukoki at Sunset Crater National Monument yesterday to try for a day time moon rise. A most peaceful time at the monument.

This is also for the 2nd week of the 52 week challenge- the prompt or assignment was landscape.
such a stark place, love it.

@blueberry1222 Thank you a great deal. This part of Arizona is often misunderstood for its grandeur.

@judithtb Thank you so much, I have to thank my dog Riley who waited patiently while I worked.

@amyk Truly grateful for the fav, the ancient house that was built up on that rock is cool. You can walk in and through it.

@domenicododaro I am humbled by your comment. Thank you so kindly for the fav. I have wanted to 'snag' a day light moon for a few years now.

@octogenarian Wrapped around one of the tumbleweed bushes behind me. She was patient while I worked but still got herself all tangled up a few times. I was 'off' trail so I hope we didn't do too much damage to the bushes, its a delicate environment.

@robz Most grateful for the fav. This is an old native American dwelling, it has 4 rooms, no roof but there are several existing structures in this area. This one is open to explore so people can walk through the rooms and all around it. I can't imagine farming out there but there is evidence that it was accomplished. I need to try this again but from a longer distance away and with maybe a zoom lens and see how that works.
