Jim Davis, creator of Garfield, was born in Marion, IN and raised in neighboring Fairmount (just like James Dean). One of the current artists that works on the comic strip lives nearby and teaches classes at the Community School of the Arts. My mom loved Garfield, so I figured this was the perfect day to shoot this one. I miss her.
@myautofocuslife thank you. She never went for the traditional things like flowers. As she used to put it... "Why do people give flowers as a token of their love? Flowers die after a few days." She preferred we spend time with her for mother's day (memories don't die) but if we insisted on giving her a gift, she wanted us to use our talents and make something or give her something that showed we put some thought into it.
@jsw0109 - I, too, have a "high end" laptop and it's a little on the orange side but I was certain it would be red. I use a laptop exclusively but, after seeing my shots on my brother's nice, big MAC desktop screen, I know my laptop is so inadequate. More $. ugh.
Well now I can't decide which little piggy is my favourite! We have similarly decorated statues around our city, first we had bulls, then orcas, then eagles, right now it's Terra Cotta warriors - so cool!
LOL this is awesome...loving these pig shot Jeff. We have these painted statues around here too but they are people and not pigs and we also have painted benches.
@paulaag thanks, I do.... and its probably best that I won't be doing the Indy meet up the 19th. That would have been my mom's birthday so I'll probably be in a funk anyway.
@fueast thank you Alison! I try to maintain elements in the edits that are similar and yet keep each one as unique as the pigs themselves. I have one more pig to go! (unless the 8th one shows up somewhere)
@tigerdreamer thank you Karen
@northy thanks!
@groovygirlrn horses are amazing creatures
@terryvet92 thanks Terry!
@cmc1200 knowing that put a smile on mine :)
@tanja_1211 thanks Tanja! Painted benches sounds interesting!
