Day 5 of all SOOC week for the get pushed challenge. It was another foggy morning drive and more dense than previous days. I loved the way the bottom of this tower just vanished into the fog. While it may appear as though processing was involved, everything you see was managed in camera, including the tone.
WOW - you all ROCK!!! - I just learned this shot just hit the PP putting 3 consecutive shots on the PP simultaneously. You have no idea how much that means to me that it is YOU that have made that happen, and what a week for it to happen - I am so touched and blessed by all the support you all have shown this week. THANK YOU!
Ok, in my humble opinion I think this is the best challenge you've ever had! Clearly not a reflection on your previous photos, just that I find these soooo good! fave again!
@kaustin you can get this effect with a dense fog if you shoot in monochrome with a blue filter (or other color if you prefer) and contrast turned up in camera.
@bardejov different brands call it different things, but its essentially in the picture styles part of your menu in your camera. In Canons you get get some user defined options. For example, with this shot, I used user defined and started with monochrome template. Then I selected sharpness and turned it up 1, then selected contrast and turned it all the way up. then I selected toning effect and selected blue.
@jwlynn64 you silly... the camera processes everything anyway... all I did was force the camera to process it to MY standards instead of Canon's standards and then pressed the shutter release ;-P
Jeff, this has to be one of your best shots ever, I think it is absolutely incredible and one of my favourite photos on 365 ever!! A massive Fave from me, an absolute belter!!!
@seanoneill I'm doing a small print for now just to see how it translates on paper... if I like it, will more than likely go with metallic paper for larger print.
gorgeous way to capture that beautiful fog.......and i am so glad you are getting the recognition......especially since you considered this week to be a big challenge for you! an instant fav for me!
Wow Jeff that is an AMAZING pic! How did you get that POV? I love how it almost disappears at the bottom of the image - great entry for the "simple" challenge also - an intriguing and beautiful take on an everyday (some would even consider an unsightly) subject-thanks for sharing!-fav
@mrsc19 its actually an optical illusion. I'm standing directly in front of one so that the wires were directly overhead. Since the wires are closer and there's fog at the bottom and behind the subject (well, all around it actually, but more dense at the bottom and behind), it only makes it appear that it was taken from higher up (the pylon behind it also helps create that illusion). I had to get myself lined up perfectly and tilt the camera just right.
I've been surprised and so appreciative of the response these sooc shots have been getting from you all. Its been a therapeutic week :)
i go Faved.
