The day’s end brought a much-needed break in the oppressive heat of the past week, which in turn made our post-daycare, post-work outside time that much more special. We traveled out to the athletic fields with Oso leading the way after being let off his leash and Diego riding comfortably in his Radio Flyer. The sky was strewn with high, wispy clouds and the wind whipped. Far off from us, sprinklers watered a browning patch of grass near the school’s new athletic center. Diego saw the jets of water and the wagon was left behind, but moments later he was distracted by his best friend and I was in the right place at the right time to catch their loving moment beneath a gorgeous sky and verdant earth.
