The past month or so has been really tough. Physically, almost everyone in our home has been battling one ailment or another, but frequently more than one at a time. Additionally, both my work and my fiancee’s have been hugely demanding of our time and energy, making each day seem like a marathon. Rest has been in short supply - at least for us adults - and the stress of modern life with its incessant bills, commutes, schedules and obligations has put us a bit on edge. But even with all of this happening, we persevere. We pick ourselves up, we rally and we make sure things get done, all the while remembering that we do it all for those moments like this one, where we stop, capture the beauty in our lives and recharge ourselves with the knowledge that this is where our priorities truly lie. Not in the paycheck, the car repairs or the new shoes. It’s in the moment, the sometimes very brief moment, that you take amid the chaos to soak in the love of those you love.
