Cornbread has become a regular fixture in our mornings much to the delight of little Dieguito. Usually I hunker down at our coffee table with the pan of yumminess and a butter knife to dish out the goods, but on this morning Diego took matters into his own hands and felt like serving himself. This is pure Diego. He sees any of us do something - his brother, his mom, even the dog - and then he mimics the action with a stunning kind of agility and confidence. I know a lot of what I write in these captions probably reads like typical parent peacocking, but I am truly impressed by this kid. He’s a bright one, enough so that I actually trusted him when he picked up that (butter)knife!
