Coot collecting nesting material. The pair had a little nest just above the water line in the base of a tree. Watched her for ages.
I've taken dozens and dozens of photos of these birds over the last year but not one has ever come out properly. So, while this may not seem much, I am so happy that I've finally managed to get all the feather detail and the red eye clear enough to see :)
