Rainbow Month Day 30 - Paterson's curse (Echium plantagineum)

Not a true Australian Wildflower as this was introduced in the 1880s but has now spread widely across the country and is known under various names, Paterson's curse in Western Australia and Salvation Jane in South Australia.

We had many acres of this flower on my fathers farm when I was a kid!! I saw some growing in the hills of northern Italy once. Guess that's where it originated from

@777margo This Rainbow Month has been a great education for me too! I had all these images of Australian wild flowers but only knew the names of half of them so felt I had to explore all the literature before uploading!!
