Feeling tall

First of all huge thanks for the response to yesterday's photo. Today is slightly frustrating as I had other nice shots from yesterday and nothing really interesting today but I've decided to stick to trying to take a photo each day as I've found that is the way I stick to the project. Anyway on the very successful day of Women's Marches I am feeling inspired - it's good to see young women getting politically engaged again - I often feel that girls were more self possessed in the 80's when I was a teenager than now with constant Instagramming etc. Great to see many men out there too - I'm sure calling it a Women's March increased the numbers as most people don't want to go on a protest where there is a danger of violence and/or police over-reaction.
I see a lot of activism amongst the young. My teenage daughter in fact just joined a political party. She is a member of the young Greens here in Australia. They are seriously concerned about the environment and making sure they are making enough noise to be heard. It gives me great hope to see them engage...

I know that frustration of choosing between the bunch of good photos taken the day before and the average one of that day! I like the way you are so accurately lined up to point the way down the road here. Well done for sticking to your objective and I agree with you about the marches - encouraging to see the other side of grass roots opinion.

Great capture. I too was encouraged to see the marches. It gives me hope that the young will not just lie down and take what's thrown at them. In these uncertain times it is so important

That looong shadow fills the beautiful lane perfectly!
Tens of thousands of women marching in Washington on Saturday. I'm so impressed with the incredible organization that enabled such a massive and well run protest/march to take place.
