At Tom’s

Another iPhone shot - apologies for the general lack of photographic merit lately but I am managing diary shots which is better than nothing. Nigel is home from his business trip so he took the dog out to spare my foot and we cycled to town primarily to get a little rubber nose pad thing for my specs and secondarily as an excuse to go to Tom’s Cafe. I’m trying to shed some pounds so couldn’t indulge as much as I’d like.
The optical assistant (qualifications unknown because ‘I’ll have to ask my colleague’ was on repeat) managed to snap the metal piece that holds the nose pad off my specs. Him: I was supposed to warn you it was at your own risk. Me: You didn’t did you? Him: No. So they’re being sent back to Denmark for a whole new nose section and I’m in my spare pair for a month (you were saved the saga of why I’ve got a free spare pair and a free pair of reading glasses because I wasn’t posting last year when the drama was unfolding!)

Oh goodness. These are the most elaborate cupcakes I have ever seen. I'm sorry you were unable to indulge. Sounds like you might have needed to if the optical assistant experience came first.

Those look absolutely stunning - a cafe I don't know yet, but I think I shall have to remedy that now! Wry smile at your glasses experience - I'm also a glasses wearer so I winced at what happened. Glad you got a spare pair! One thing I don't have.....scarily......
