I forced myself to do a supermarket shop and then a walk today. The more we are cooped up in the rain, the easier it is to stay put & enthusiasm is definitely lacking. It was very quiet out, hardly any cars or pedestrians to be seen. There’s a good couple of centimetres of rain in these punts - I’m sure somebody will be given the lovely job of bailing them out soon.
Weather: wet, wet, wet
Covid: had enough of it
Good thing: public conveniences are open this lockdown and are, therefore, actually convenient.
I’m supposing there isn’t much call for punting in the river at the moment. Is it even allowed I wonder! Loss of income will be massive.
I agree about going out...we ummed & aahed but was glad once we did it! I have to do a shop tomorrow plus another ear appointment for Harry.
Well spotted and captured - and I feel the same way about staying in - made the weekly grocery run this morning and glad I won't be getting out again for a while.
Oh that water looks so murky...the blue and wet wood on the boats is nice in comparison. No sunshine here for the next ten days or so, but glad it isn’t precipitating.
Nice capture of the punts. We had a post-wedding punt many years ago with my brother and his wife after they got married. No doubt a common thing to do in Cambridge!
@happypat Not allowed at the moment but it’s very much “off season” anyway - they’ll be wanting to be back on by Easter at the latest though. It’s a big drop in seasonal working opportunities especially for young folk.
